Based on the characteristics and expertise of the business, such as AI technology, we are committed to business-linked social contribution activities for ecosystem restoration & biodiversity conservation.

  • Spreading and establishing a roadkill prevention system

    With a business memorandum of understanding formed with the National Park Service, we plan to roll out a roadkill prevention system on a pilot basis at Hallyeohaesang National Park and expand it to general roads by upgrading it in 2024. We contribute to preventing roadkill and traffic accidents, wild animals analysis by through AI-based intelligent CCTV, lidar sensors, & control systems.

  • Pilot rollout of a forest fire detection system

    We plan to roll out a pilot forest fire detection system within Gyeongju National Park under a business memorandum of understanding formed with Gyeongju National Park, and also work to support the frontline response to forest fires by quickly detecting forest fires, analyzing data, and notifying operating agencies in real time through AI-based intelligent CCTV and control systems.

  • Promoting measures to utilize sea urchins, which cause ocean desertification.

    To create social value, POSCO Group and major domestic universities plan to cooperate in leading a project to preserve the marine ecosystem and turn waste into resources by collecting sea urchins, which cause ocean desertification.

  • Coding dream training class

    Capitalizing on the characteristics of the IT/EIC industry, in-house instructors with specialized capabilities in each field provide coding education to elementary school students who lack equal access to IT education in cooperation with each municipality's education support office.

  • AI technology mentoring for future generation youth

    Since 2020, we have been holding an AI creativity contest for middle & high school students nationwide. Through technical mentoring support for executives & employees, we provide training opportunities for specialized technologies in the AI and big data fields and contribute to nurturing talent poised to lead the future IT industry.

  • Training YouTube creators with disabilities

    As part of the CI project in which a total of 10 public & private companies participate, since 2019, we have supported online/group education, follow-up growth, and national contests to help people with disabilities grow into professional YouTube creators and become independent.

  • Support for the youth preparing for self-reliant livelihood

    As part of the 1) CI project, we operate 1:1 customized job mentoring and employment competency strengthening programs for the youth who aspire to be IT field-related experts, supporting the self-reliant livelihood & social adjustment of underprivileged youth and constantly contributing to mitigating poor employment.

Practicing eco-friendly social contribution

All executives & employees recognize the importance of environmental protection & ecosystem preservation and voluntarily participate in carbon-neutral & eco-friendly social contribution activities.

  • Grow one potted plant per employee

    With a business memorandum of understanding formed with the Hallyeohaesang National Park Office, this daily routine activity contributes to the preservation of the ecosystem by collaborating with the National Park Plant Conservation Center to distribute nationally protected plants to executives & employees, propagate them for one year, and return them to their original habitat.

  • Marine ecosystem restoration activities

    Having signed a business memorandum of understanding with the Korea Fisheries Resources Agency and the Hallyeohaesang National Park Office, we are transplanting seaweed, such as ecklonia cava, to the eastern coast and monitoring their growth through employees' talent donations,, and on the southern coast, we are staging various activities like conducting an ecological zone survey of endangered species, and leech seed collection.

  • Carbon offset forest management

    With a business memorandum of understanding formed with the Gyeongju National Park Office, we plan to pursue forest carbon offset certification upon establishing forests in the future through activities where executives & employees help improve the health of the ecosystem by planting oak trees & azaleas on bare land created artificially and naturally within Gyeongju National Park.

  • Eco-friendly recycling craft production and support activities

    Through recycling activities that upscale industrial waste, such as employees' unused clothing, into useful accessories, we are operating a hands-on craft experiential program that incorporates hand and brain exercises for vulnerable seniors.

Community sharing practice

Through voluntary talent donations by executives & employees, we are working with municipalities and NGOs to stage various activities such as improving the residential environment of vulnerable groups such as the elderly living alone and providing education on using digital devices.

  • (Pohang/Gwangyang) Support for electrical repairs for cultural assets/vulnerable groups

    By capitalizing on our executives & employees' talents, including their knowledge, technology, and experience, we are actively engaged in activities to preserve cultural assets in Gyeongju National Park and restore aging electrical equipment for vulnerable single-parent families and the elderly living alone.

  • (Seongnam) Support for wallpapering/flooring to improve residential environment

    With a business memorandum of understanding formed with the Seongnam Fire Station, and employees donate their talents to help replace wallpaper and flooring equipment for the elderly living alone & fire-susceptible households, with the fire Station pursuing joint contribution activities to support fire prevention sensors.

  • (Seongnam) Digital device utilization training

    As part of the CI project in which a total of 10 public & private companies participate, since 2019, we have supported online/group education, follow-up growth, and national contests to help people with disabilities grow into professional YouTube creators and become independent.

  • (Seongnam) Support for audio book production by artists with disabilities

    Employees participate in voice talent donation to produce and support audiobooks for the winning works of the ‘Happiness Festival’ essay contest, providing artists with disabilities with an opportunity to realize their dreams and further grow as distinctive artists.
