POSCO ICT (CEO Geonjae Son) was awarded the Korea IT Service Grand Prix (Minister Prize, Ministry of Science and ICT) on the 28th for its distinguished services in leading the development of IT service technologies and industries in Korea. 

At the ceremony hosted by the Korea IT Service Industry Association, POSCO ICT was awarded the prize in recognition for its services in leading the Digital Transformation of the local manufacturing industries by deploying the world’s first Smart Factory in the steel industry, which operae continuous processes for heavy, thick, long and large products. 

In particular, POSCO ICT developed and commercialized PosFrame, the world’s best Smart Factory platform. The PosFrame platform for real-time high speed collection ofkey data at the product site, analysis and prediction through big data and enables optimum control using AI. 

POSCO ICT has contributed to the enhanced competitive advantage of the country’s manufacturing industries in the era of The 4th Industrial Revolution by propagating the Smart Factory platform it deployed at the POSCO group of companies to the overall manufacturing industries, including Dongwha Group that produces timber products and companies specializing in the production of automotive parts. 

Meanwhile, the Korea IT Service Industry Association is hosting the Korea IT Service Grand Prix for two new sectors technology and job innovation  to create  help, which developing the local IT service industries and create new excellent jobs.
