POSCO ICT introduced its Smart Factory solutions and reference sites at the Smart Factory Automation World 2019 that was held at COEX from March 27 to 29.

Smart Factory Automation World 2019 is Korea’s largest Smart Factory exhibition. It was held this year focusing on the Digital Transformation in Manufacturing. Participating in the Exhibition for the first time, POSCO ICT introduced its know-how and solutions related to the Smart Factory it installed for steel mills. These mills require continuous production lines of heavy, thick, long, and large steel products, a first in the world.

The company introduced its Smart Factory solutions to the visitors, including PosFrame, the Smart Factory platform of POSCO Group that supports the optimum control using AI while collecting and analyzing the production site data in real time; PosMaster, which adds smart technologies to PLC and HMI; POSIS, which is a security solution for industrial control systems; IRaaS, a platform for industrial robot services; and Smart Safety Helmets.

POSCO ICT stated that over 800 people visited its booth on a daily average during the exhibition period. Many manufacturing companies have requested a proposal of the smart factory solutions in general and a diagnosis of their current facilities. Several related solution providers, meanwhile, have requested collaboration. 

“We could affirm the customers’ strong interest in the smart factory solutions provided by POSCO ICT at the exhibition,” said one company executive. “It provided a good opportunity for us to determine the direction for providing technologies and services to the customers. We plan to further promote our image as a leader in the smart factory deployment in Korea.”
