POSCO ICT to form full-fledged Korean RPA allianceDing-dong! You’ve Got Mail from Your Leader Pledging to Change.

- POSCO ICT has increased employee satisfaction by improving the way executives and division heads work.
- Practicing “corporate citizenship,” the management philosophy of POSCO, by realizing an organizational culture based on trust and creativity
The employees of POSCO ICT (CEO: Son Geonjae) have recently received a mail from their respective executives and division heads. In the mail, the leaders stated 3 kinds of behavior change necessary for the improvement of the way they work and pledged to put them into practice.
POSCO ICT recently diagnosed the way executives and business managers work in the sense that the change of the leader class is the most important to spread the smart working culture. This is in line with Mr. Son's willingness to innovate in a smarter way of working and interacting with millennial generation whose number continues to increase. The activity is also aimed at creating a workplace of trust and creativity that can satisfy the members of the company in order to realize a “corporate citizen developing together” as the management philosophy of the POSCO Group.
First of all, the employees who worked together participated in analyzing the strengths and shortcomings of the leaders through survey and a diagnosis report was then delivered to each leader to notify the current level and the points of improvement based on the results of the survey. The leaders shared the diagnosis results with their staff members through discussion, and then sent the letter containing three behavioral changes that they would like to take first. At the end of the year, we will check back to see how faithfully our leaders have fulfilled their commitments and provide feedback. POSCO ICT is pursuing a 'change leader', also known as a 'cherry campaign' that changes leaders.
The campaign contains the behavior that all leaders must follow in four aspects: Instruction & report, meeting, communication, and sharing. For example, the “Inbox Zero” campaign aims at leaving no Unread Mail when leaving the office by sending immediate feedback upon reading the mail and messenger and the “Blank Report” campaign encourages the leaders and the staff in charge to draw the anticipated output together when planning a business or a project.
The workers are showing favorable responses to the efforts of the leaders to change. “I didn’t completely like the way the division head works. I’m very glad to see that the matter is included in the change list and I have come to have more trust with the effort of the leader to change,” a staff member of POSCO ICT said. For their part, the leaders say that the activity gave them an opportunity to self-reflect that their action could have been a nuisance to their staff members.
“Employees are immersed in valued work, working with satisfaction and being efficient, is the first step toward practicing corporate citizenship, the new management philosophy of POSCO Group.” spokesperson for POSCO ICT explained.
