- Launches POSCO ICT Vietnam office in Ho Chi Min City ….Outpost for Market Entry
- On-shore/Near-shore Support for POSCO’s Overseas Operations

POSCO ICT (CEO, Huh Nam-suk) is actively expanding its global presence with an addition of a local office in Ho Chi Minh City, The office will serve both as a beachhead for Vietnam market entry and as an on-shore IT support center for POSCO’s overseas production operations.

The office opening ceremony, held on October 26, was attended by POSCO ICT executives and staff and other local dignitaries, including Huh Nam-suk, POSCO ICT CEO, Gang Chung-sik, Chair, the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam, and Sin Nam-sik, Director, KOTRA Business Center.

POSCO ICT plans to leverage its new Vietnam operation to respond quickly to rapidly developing local ICT market and to create new business opportunities.

POSCO ICT sees opportunities in Vietnam’s recent rapid economic growth in SOC construction projects including new city development, highways, railways, and power plants where POSCO ICT and POSCO Family companies could make unique synergistic contribution by combining IT and engineering prowess and expertise. Not stopping short of entering Vietnam market, POSCO ICT plans to expand into neighboring South East Asian markets including Malaysia and Indonesia.

POSCO ICT’s Vietnam office will serve two purposes: an outpost for overseas market development and an on-shore/near-shore service center for overseas production bases of POSCO and POSCO Family companies, providing support services in geographic proximity. POSCO ICT will aim at providing lower-cost, high-quality IT services in real time by actively leveraging local pool of IT talents, moving away from current practice of engaging Korean resource to develop and manage local customer systems.
