- Builds additional 9Mw wind power station to link with photovoltaic power station at Sinan, Jeollanam-do
- Complex, to be completed in December 2011, will generate 18,000MW of power every year; damage to nature will be minimized during construction

POSCO ICT will build a private renewable energy complex at Taecheon-ri, Jido-eub, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do that links photovoltaic power generation with wind power generation for the first time in Korea.
The Sian Window Power Complex Power Generation, which is scheduled for completion in December 2011, is the first renewable energy complex power generation complex to be built by a private power generation company. The 9Mw class wind power station will augment the 24Mw class accumulative photovoltaic power station installed by Dongyang Engineering & Construction Corporation as the largest station in Asia. Once it has been completed, a 33Mw-class renewable energy complex compound will have been formed, and energy efficiency will be maximized through the systematic linkage of photovoltaic power and wind power.
In a joint investment project, POSCO ICT and Dongyang Engineering & Construction Corporation will establish Sinan Wind Power Hybrid Generation Co., Ltd as a special purpose company (SPC), in order to implement the related businesses.
Once the 9Mw class wind power station is ready to operate (power generation capacity of Sinan Wind Power Hybrid Generation), over 18,000MWh of electricity will be generated every year, equivalent to the annual power consumption of 5,000 houses. The power station will have a substitution effect of 3.4 million liters of oil, and will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 8,000 tons, which amounts to the annual emission of 9,300 cars.
In this project, POSCO ICT and Dongyang Engineering & Construction Corporation will develop the wind power generation system based on their proprietary technical know-how and experience. The two companies are also strengthening the technical support system by signing an MOU with Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction to build the power station efficiently.
