- 2.2 million m² of residential, commercial, administrative, and educational facilities will be built in Tobruk, a Libyan city on the Mediterranean coast.

POSCO ICT (CEO Huh Nam-suk) will participate in a number of city construction projects to be implemented by ODAC (Organizational Development of Administrative Centers) in Libya.

POSCO ICT signed contracts worth 163,508,000 dinars (approx. 1 trillion and 40 billion won) with One Construction, the original contractor of the Tobruk New City Construction Projects, in Libya. Under this project, POSCO ICT will manage electric equipment and machinery infrastructure, starting the detailed design work next year and implementing the related projects by 2014.

This project is one of the first large-scale national projects in which the Libyan government is investing USD 1 billion (approx.. 1 trillion won) for the construction of 3,200 houses, and commercial, religious, administrative, and educational facilities on a 2.2 million m² site in Tobruk, a city on the Mediterranean coast.

With the execution of this project POSCO ICT is expected to accumulate project implementation know-how in the Middle Eastern region, and lay the groundwork for managing its overseas construction IT projects. In particular, POSCO ICT will expand its related businesses by actively developing the city infrastructure construction project, which includes railroads, environment, and energy, as well as subsequent city development projects, based on order receiving for this project.

As for One Construction, which has participated in construction projects in Libya since 2005, it is currently executing a project to build 2,000 houses in Derna, some 160km away from Tobruk.
