POSCO ICT is moving quickly to push cloud computing business as one of its future growth engines. Such efforts are gaining momentum as the IT and engineering powerhouse launches cloud business in China education services for starters.

POSCO ICT (CEO, Hur Nam-Suk) will run an educational service business in Shaanxi Province, China, by creating cloud-based u-Learning (Ubiquitous-Learning) environment with Seoul Digital University.

POSCO ICT recently signed an MOU for business cooperation at a ceremony attended by the related parties from Seoul Digital University and Golden Maple (Chinese local educational service provider), as well as top government officials including the party secretary of Taiyuan City (the capital city of Shaanxi Province), Cheng Chunping, and Mayor Li Junming, who sought active support and cooperation of the Chinese government for the establishment of a cyber university in the region and successful business implementation.

According to the MOU, three organizations including POSCO ICT agreed to establish a cyber university in China and provide u-Learning services to local public servants, primary, middle and high school students, and college and graduate students first.
