- POSCO ICT signed a contract with Brazilian subways for developing related systems.
- Accelerates developing markets in South America (Argentina and Chile) and Asian region.

POSCO ICT (CEO Hur Nam-Suk) won a 24 billion KRW contract of installing its proprietary PSD (Platform Screen Door) in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Following the 13 billion KRW PSD product supply contract with Brazilian Subway Line #3 in 2010, the contract on this occasionalso includes the development project. As a result, POSCO ICT will conduct all projects on a turn-key basis by the end of October next year, which includes system development, supply, installation, and trial run. The scale of the total project won by POSCO ICT amounts to 37 billion KRW, including product supply and development of related systems.

Besides this project, POSCO ICT has been conducting related businesses actively. POSCO ICT signed the 10 billion KRW PSD supply contract with Brazil Metro Line 2 and 4 in 2009. The PSD is designed to be installed in a subway station to prevent the safety accident of subway passengers and form a comfortable underground environment. As related systems are well installed in domestic subway lines, foreign subway operators seem to continue benchmarking, and conduct related business more actively.

The export contract of POSCO ICT is more meaningful in this occasion, because its successful entry into the foreign market is based on technical skills and rich know-how accumulated in Korea. It is likely that POSCO ICT will expand their business line to the mono rail system, based on successful business implementation in Brazil, and put more efforts in entering into Asian markets, which are expected to place an order in the near future, and South American countries like Argentina and Chile.
