- Recognized as the nation's best quality of its risk prevention and response

POSCO ICT (CEO: Hur Nam-Suk) acquired Level 4 CMMI certification, the international quality certification system in the IT and system engineering fields.
CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) is a model wherein SEI (Software Engineering Institute) of the US Carnegie Melon University evaluates the development skills and maturity of an organization and a project in terms of IT and system engineering.
Graded from Levels 1 to 5, CMMI is the international standard applied for 4220 companies in 73 countries across the globe.
The fact that POSCO ICT passed CMMI Level 4 with its even stricter certification requirements means that the quality process of POSCO ICT ongoing project meets the best and highest level. It also suggests that the quantitative project management can visualize the status of project execution to predict and control the risk so that the organization can carry out systematic management.
With this certification, POSCO ICT is expected to realize excellent quality for objective management capability in implementing a project in the IT and system engineering field. In addition, it will contribute a lot to raising customer satisfaction through high-quality product management, growth of productivity, shorter period of delivery, reduction of defects, etc.
"With the acquisition of CMMI Level 4, an international quality certification, we will enhance the project quality level for POSCO and POSCO Family and apply CMMI to an engineering project to reorganize the process," a POSCO ICT officer said.
