POSCO ICT-KT Strengthens Cooperation in the Electric Tax Business First in Korea

- The electric tax charging management system is applied to the "Olleh Smart Taxi" solution
- Contributing to environmental protection and energy saving by reducing carbon dioxide emission

POSCO ICT (CEO Bong-Rae Cho, www.poscoict.co.kr) and KT (Chairman & CEO, Suk-Chae Lee, www.kt.com) announced last 22nd that they signed an agreement for the "joint business in the electric car area" at KT Gwanghwamun building with the participation of related parties from both companies, including Lim Soo-gyeong, executive director who manages KT G&E business, and Lee Ju-yeon, executive director of POSCO ICT.

Based on the agreement, POSCO ICT and KT will ▲ develop and supply exclusive terminals, ▲ develop, operate, and maintain the charging infrastructure, ▲ provide the electric vehicle based services and contents, ▲ promote the model business for the electric taxi, based on the Jeju island area, and ▲ provide the intelligent taxi service like call service operation, in order to promote the electric tax business.
Two companies announced that "the electric tax charging management system will be combined with the "Olleh Smart Taxi" solution, based on the business agreement on this occasion. It is expected that this business will make a great contribution to environmental protection and energy saving by reducing carbon dioxide emission, as a part of green ICT."

POSCO ICT has built several electric car charging stations and central control center in the Jeju island area, including Gapado, Seoguipo-si, Jeju that is currently promoted as a carbon-free island. Operating electric cars and charging facilities are monitored in real time to check the energy quantity and operation status, and the information is given to drivers, if necessary.
