POSCO ICT and financial information service provider FnGuide agreed to jointly carry out RPA (Robot Process Automation) business.
The two companies signed a business agreement to promote joint projects at POSCO ICT's Pangyo building. The signing ceremony was attended by POSCO ICT President Son Geon-Jae, F&Gide President Lee Chul-Soon and other company officials.
Through the agreement, the two companies plan to jointly supply POSCO ICT's RPA solution to financial institutions such as securities firms and asset management companies.FnGuide is the nation's largest financial information service company and provides institutional investors, including securities firms and asset management firms, with investment information such as financial information, analysis reports and stock index, as well as financial solutions for corporate analysis and monitoring.
Under the cooperation, FnGuide will play the role of reselling POSCO ICT's RPA solution A.WORKS to securities firms and asset management firms in collaboration with the company, while POSCO ICT will take charge of supplying solutions and technical support. The company also decided to apply RPA to automate its own operations. POSCO ICT's RPA will be applied to repetitive tasks such as data crawling and preprocessing conducted by FnGuide to service financial information, and RPA models specialized in financial information services will be developed in the future to create synergy by conducting joint marketing.
POSCO ICT launched its own solution A.WORKS last year, and has been pushing for the supply and spread of its solutions by forming a wide-ranging alliance with companies representing the domestic financial, distribution and service industries, including Hana Financial TI, Shinsegae I&C, and CJ Olive Networks.
"The financial sector is the most active sector that introduces RPA, and the need for non-face-to-face and remote automatic business processing is increasing more rapidly because of COVID 19," said Kang Shin-dan, head of POSCO ICT Solution Marketing Group. "We plan to further strengthen the spread of RPA to financial sectors through cooperation with FnGuide."
