POSCO ICT holds the 2021 Technology Conference

POSCO ICT  held the 2021 Technology Conference on the 7th to share the results of technology development promoted this year and to view the latest technology trends and development directions.

At the conference held in an online space using Metabus platform, POSCO ICT shared 14 kinds of technology development achievements and case studies, including AI, big data, and industrial safety. In addition, special lectures were introduced on KAIST professor Jang Young-jae's "Logistics Automation and Optimization of AGV Operation," AI-based "Digital Transformation Strategy" by Kim Pil-ho, managing director of POSCO Technology Research Institute, and "Transform Operations with Digital Twin" by AVEVA Korea.

Through the conference, POSCO ICT shared a case of establishing itself as the best solution in Korea by strengthening Hyper Automation function in its RPA solution, A.WORK. PosMaster, a smart control system applied to the manufacturing site, has achieved results in securing a product lineup to meet various needs of customers by releasing PLC-Edge products that can execute AI algorithms. In addition, POSCO ICT introduced a case in which a "smart safety control platform" that can be integrated and controlled in connection with on-site IoT devices is developed and applied on a trial basis to Pohang Steel Plant 3 Finex.

POSCO ICT opened the "AI Industry-Academy Integrated Research Center" in connection with POSTECH's Graduate School of Artificial Intelligence this year and is working hard to secure AI core technologies through industry-academy cooperation with AI companies such as SNUi Lab and Makiranax. The head of the Technology Development Center said, "This year, we developed technologies and solutions in line with the company's strategic projects such as RPA, PosMaster, and Smart Safety Control. Next year, we plan to focus more on securing new technologies and discovering items for future growth such as digital twins and carbon reduction to lead future technologies."
